CHALLENGE
We were thrilled when Vogue Arabia x Dolce and Gabbana approached us to undertake a photoshoot for their Alta-Moda collection in the mesmerizing city of Al-Ula. This collaboration presented a unique opportunity for us to showcase fashion from a distinctive perspective, taking into account the historical significance of Al-Ula fashion week as the first of its kind and the inaugural runway show in Saudi Arabia.
With such an important assignment at hand, our primary objective was to authentically capture the rich cultural identity of Al-Ula through our visual representation. However, the challenge we faced was the limited availability of data and prior research to guide our creative vision. We realized that for our project to truly reflect the spirit of Al-Ula, we needed to immerse ourselves in the city's essence by personally exploring and scouting the location.
APPROACH
In our quest to find the ideal locations for our photoshoot, we prioritized secrecy and precision. Without initial guidance, our team scoured every possible spot to find the perfect backdrop for our vision. We carefully assessed each potential setting to ensure it aligned with our high standards for beauty and theme. After narrowing down our choices, we prepared diligently for an early morning photoshoot, allowing no room for delays or compromises. The following day, as the sun rose, our dedicated crew executed the planned shots with precision and artistry. This showcased our unwavering commitment and ability to adapt swiftly to unexpected situations.
In the end, our approach to the photoshoot in Al-Ula transcended the limited availability of data and prior research. Instead, we relied on the beauty and authenticity of the city itself to guide our creative choices. Through our collaborative efforts with Vogue Arabia x Dolce and Gabbana, we successfully captured the spirit of Al-Ula fashion week, ensuring that both the Alta-Moda collection and the city itself would forever be woven together in a tapestry of culture, style, and history.
